ABSNC Announces Public Comment Phase for Standard 13

The Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) is happy to announce that a revised version of Standard 13, Recertification and Continuing Competence, is posted here for public comment by representatives of ABSNC accredited programs. Policy 11.4 dictates that:

“All substantive changes to the Rationale, Criteria, and Required Documentation of the Standard shall be posted for a 30-day period of public comment by ABSNC members, ABSNC pool of volunteer psychometricians, and ABNS member organizations.”

We thank the members of the committee for their consistent input during this meticulous and iterative process. Moving forward, it is the intent of the ABSNC and the Standards Committee to follow a thoughtful process and timeline to ensure that the ABSNC member organizations can meet the accreditation criteria should any changes be instituted.

The ABSNC requests comments be submitted to the ABSNC office via email at info@absnc.org no later than Friday, September 27, 2019.

ABSNC is the only accrediting body specifically dedicated to nursing certification.  Currently ABSNC accredits nearly 60 certification programs from more than 20 specialty nursing certification organizations. The accreditation standards offered by ABSNC include Examination-Based Certification Programs, Portfolio Assessment Certification Programs, and Assessment-Based Certificate Programs.
